One of Shropshire’s most icon landmarks. The world’s first Iron Bridge was built by Abraham Darby III in 1779. Today it is closed to vehicle traffic but you can walk across it and enjoy the lovely views of the Severn Gorge. An exhibition within the original Tollhouse explains how and why the bridge was built.
